Consummate performer Alasdair Fraser, “the Michael Jordan of Scottish fiddling” spans the full spectrum between intimate chamber music and ecstatic dance energy across global fiddle traditions and with new works. Over the last 20 years of creating a buzz at festivals and concert halls across the world, he has truly set the standard for fiddle in traditional music. He continues to thrill audiences internationally with his virtuosic playing and the joyful spontaneity and sheer physical presence of his music.

Fraser has a concert and recording career spanning over 30 years, with a long list of awards, accolades, radio and television credits, and feature performances on top movie soundtracks (Last of the Mohicans, Titanic, etc.). In 2011, he was inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame.

Alasdair now tours as a powerful new family collaboration bringing together his sons Galen and Cameron Fraser and Galen’s Castilian wife, María San Miguel. Rooted in the traditional Scottish repertoire that has shaped Alasdair’s musical life, as well as a deep association with the Iberian peninsula, the quartet expands outward into a vibrant, contemporary sound world, combining the diverse musical explorations of all members of this exciting new band. With generations of musical influence, family chemistry and a shared instinct for adventure, the group brings fresh energy to old traditions— moving effortlessly between fiery dance tunes, lyrical airs, original compositions and unexpected musical journeys. It is music grounded in heritage, alive in the present, and propelled by the sheer joy of playing together.
